Hyde Deck Machinery and Steering Systems
Since 1865 and for most of the 20th century, Hyde was the leading US supplier of ship's deck machinery and steering systems. Hyde deck equipment is installed on hundreds of commercial and naval vessels worldwide.
Today Hyde remains a respected supplier of equipment and services to the Marine market, particularly on the U.S. Great Lakes. We produce and sell all types of deck machinery and steering systems and specialize in meeting the unique needs of the Great Lakes marine industry with the Hyde automatic constant tension mooring winch, Oldman universal mooring chocks and the Schilling high maneuverability rudder.
Hyde is also the U.S. agent for Porsgrunn Rotary Vane Steering systems, Schilling Rudder and Vec-Twin Systems from Japan Hamworthy, and Thruster Systems from Veth Motoren. We also design and produce marine electronic equipment for Rudder Roll Stabilization and Vessel List Control through our subsidiary, Hyde Marine Systems. The Hyde Rudder Roll Stabilization Systems and "Heel Away" List Control Systems are marker by Flume Stabilization Systems.
Replacement Parts and Service
Hyde can provide replacement parts for all Hyde machinery built since 1895. These genuine replacement parts are manufactured from the original drawings and patterns to insure that you are receiving the correct part for your machine. All replacement parts are inspected by Hyde's Quality Control Department to guarantee the parts meet the original machining and material specifications.
Experienced Hyde service engineers are available to service all Hyde equipment as well as equipment manufactured by other companies. We can provide machinery overhaul and rebuild services for all Hyde machinery. We can overhaul the entire machine or rebuild components. The overhaul can be performed onboard the ship under the supervision of a Hyde service engineer, or can be performed at Hyde's factory. We use only genuine factory replacement parts on these rebuild programs.
