Hyde Marine Inc. and Alandia Engineering Oy - Installation Partnership

Hyde Marine, Inc. and Alandia Engineering OY are pleased to announce the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for Alandia to provide engineering and installation services for the Hyde GUARDIAN™ ballast water management technology. This LOI is a result of extensive discussions between the companies and is an important milestone for Hyde Marine. This partnership allows Hyde to offer its customers a skilled, high quality organization to manage the multi-disciplined task of installing ballast water management systems on existing ships. A formal agreement will be signed during the next few months. Hyde Marine intends to continue this partnership effort to include additional engineering and installation company partners in order to serve customers in all market segments and geographical locations worldwide

Hyde Marine, Inc. (“Hyde”) manufactures the Hyde GUARDIAN™ ballast water treatment system. Hyde began developing BWT technology more than ten years ago working closely with regulators, researchers and shippers to ensure a practical and effective solution. Hyde delivered and installed five ballast treatment systems in 2001-2002, leading up to the delivery of Hyde GUARDIAN systems on the cruise ship “Coral Princess” in 2003 and the Celebrity Mercury in 2006. In December 2008, Hyde delivered six GUARDIAN systems to the Royal Navy for their new UK Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF) program. The M/S “Coral Princess”, fitted with the Hyde GUARDIAN ballast water treatment system, is the first ship accepted into the US Coast Guard’s Ship Technology Evaluation Program (STEP). IMO Type approval for the GUARDIAN system through the UK Government is expected in Early 2009.
