Think a UV-based ballast water treatment system cannot be sized up for the high flows of your tankers? Want to avoid the use of dangerous chemical systems on your ship, but are also cautious about putting a UV chamber in your pump room? Don’t worry, we have a Hyde GUARDIAN® for you!

Hyde Marine was the first UV-based system with both ATEX and IECEx approval, allowing for installation in Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas up to and including Class 2 gasses.  Our industry-leading zero-hold-time requirement allows you to continually move ballast on and off the vessel to account for cargo movements, shifting tides, and changes in the cargo loading plans. Our gravity ballasting and deballasting modes give you the flexibility to allow your cargo loading rates to set the ballast flow rates, and our industry-exclusive Internal Transfer mode makes sure that as you shift ballast in port or during the voyage, the treatment system does not inadvertently think is it being bypassed. 

With the lowest power consumption of any UV-based ballast water treatment system on the market (63 kW / 1000 m3 in IMO service), Hyde Marine can treat the high flow rates common to tankers without needing to add a new generator just to run the treatment system.
